COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Four men allegedly protecting two suspected members of terrorist group Dawlah Islamiya were arrested following a brief firefight in Barira, Maguindanao on Sunday.
Ibrahim Ayunan, Norhamin Macugar, Salik Macugar and Tatah Macugar reportedly opened fire at a group of police officers out to serve an arrest warrant against the terrorists in Barangay Liong.
Police said they recovered two .45 caliber pistols from the suspects who reportedly protected Porok Ragundo and Jacky Abdul Una.
Ragundo and Una managed to escape during the firefight.
Police launched a manhunt for Ragundo and Una.
