MANILA, Philippines — At least 149 kilos of shabu with an estimated street value of P1.28 billion were confiscated in an anti-narcotics operation led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Barangay Molino 3 in Bacoor, Cavite yesterday.
Jorlan San Jose, 26; Joseph Maudin, 28, and Joan Lumanog, 27, all residents of Barangay Dominorog in Talakag, Bukidnon, were arrested.
Authorities said marked money and a cell phone used by the suspects in their transactions were seized.
The suspects face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
On Sept. 11, PDEA agents confiscated 229 kilos of shabu valued at P1.58 billion in the same barangay in Bacoor.
Two suspects with links to a Chinese drug ring were killed in an alleged shootout with PDEA agents.
A week later, two African men and a Filipina were caught with P3.4 million worth of shabu in a sting in General Trias, Cavite.
