Who’s Playing

Miami @ San Antonio

Current Records: Miami 22-13; San Antonio 14-19

What to Know

The Miami Heat have enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they must head out on the road. They and the San Antonio Spurs will round out the year against one another at 8:30 p.m. ET Wednesday at AT&T Center. The Heat will be strutting in after a victory while San Antonio will be stumbling in from a defeat.

Miami bagged a 119-112 win over the Washington Wizards on Tuesday. It was another big night for Miami’s small forward Jimmy Butler, who almost dropped a triple-double on 25 points, 15 dimes, and eight boards.

Meanwhile, San Antonio was within striking distance but couldn’t close the gap on Monday as they fell 110-104 to the Utah Jazz. Shooting guard Derrick White put forth a good effort for the losing side as he had 21 points and eight assists.

Miami is expected to lose this next one by 3.5. However, those who like betting on the underdog should be happy to hear that they are 7-2 against the spread when expected to lose.

The Heat are now 22-13 while the Spurs sit at 14-19. Two numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: Miami enters the game with only 103.4 points allowed per game on average, good for third best in the league. But San Antonio ranks fourth in the league when it comes to points per game, with 111.5 on average. These opposing strengths should make for an exciting matchup.
